Frequently Asked Questions: What is a non-religious baptism?

As an officiant in Montreal, Quebec, I often get asked how to celebrate the birth of one’s child if they aren’t religious.  Many different cultures have traditions that they use to welcome the birth of a child.  Various cultures will bathe the child, sing, play music, burn incense, write various messages for the child or even have the ceremony to name the child and share the name with family and friends.

When a child is born, people around them are filled with love and joy.  A celebration of birth is a good way to welcome the child into the family and circle of friends.  You can choose any tradition you would like to include in the celebration of birth. What is important in to come together and build a village for the child to help them through their walks of life.

A celebration of birth, similarly to a wedding, is a celebration that is filled with love and joy.  As an officiant in Montreal, Quebec, I am always ecstatic to take part in and officiant a celebration of birth.  If you want to book a ceremony with me, you can email me at celebrationscoeuracoeur@gmail.com or call 438-371-9738
